Hello Late Post

Hey Guys,

So I just got home and unfortunately there are no photos today, but I can let you in on the events. I woke up and had some ezekiel bread toast and honey dew for breakfast which was light and lovely. I had some shrimp stir fry and potato for lunch...and it was about that time that I did the 2 hours of power routine! It got easier this week which is good. I had some pork chops eggs and ezekiel for dinner. I want to work on being more giving (this is a side note) and to put others needs into the main picture. Well I am wiped and I have a 4 mile run tomorrow...oh jeeze! I will have some photos for you soon! Sweet dreams!

Pork Run

Hey Everyone,

I just got home from my run...3 miles (despite not feeling great). I have to say it was pretty exhausting. I have been thinking to myself why is running not getting any easier and I realize it is because I have been dehydrated, which is something my doctor reminded me of earlier this week. Remember it is very important to have enough water on a daily basis.

Like I said I had pork chops and eggs for dinner, I have been pretty dependent on my leftovers haha. Tomorrow is 2 hours of power class at the gym so I am pretty sure I will be pooped after. I have been working on some art projects as of late and want to make some more headway towards finishing the set (maybe I will give you a sneak peak when I'm done)! I will see you guys tomorrow!

New News

Hey Guys!

So I have decided I need to reformat the way I do this. I will post once a day with my general workout, but I will post three posts when I do update that will tell you about breakfast lunch and dinner. Today I haven't had that much to eat (I am kind of out of it to be honest). I had some cookies for breakfast that I made the other day and a fruit salad. Last night I ended up just making my own pork chops, and I am having those again for dinner again.

I am excited because I am having "ethnic" food days starting next week with mexican and that should be fun to document! I have yoga and a 3 mile run tonight I will update you on those after I do them. See you for dinner!

Sweet Treat

hey everyone!

This is going to be a quick post. I was not super hungry for lunch but I had a bit of a sweet tooth so I made a recipe that I have been meaning to try for some time, fried plantains and guacamole it was super tasty! I found the recipe on the everyday paleo site, and it is as follows:

Plantains and Guacamole

Ingredients:

3 ripe plantains (They are ripe when they are black and nasty looking)
1/4 cup of coconut oil
4 avocados
Juice from 1 lime
garlic powder and black pepper to taste
(I added curry powder, and cayenne)

Leave the peel on the plantain and cut off the ends. Still with the peel on slice the plantain as thin as possible lengthwise. Leaving the peel on while slicing will help prevent smashing the plantain. After the plantain is sliced, carefully remove the peel and place the sliced plantains into a skillet of hot coconut oil. Fry for about 2 minutes on each side, using tongs to flip, and being careful not to burn. Mash the avocados with the lime juice, garlic powder, and black pepper and serve with the plantain chips.

I have to go do some shopping but I am gonna meet up with you around dinner time! Enjoy

Update For Breakfast

Afternoon Guys!

I just got home from a morning meeting! I made myself some ezekiel bread with agave which was yummy. I am so sore from yesterday and I am doing my running in the evening so I have some more recovery time. I am not sure what I am going to go for lunch but I will let you know when I get home. I can't believe have a 5 mile run tonight OMG. Well I'm gonna do some stretches and relax for a little! See you soon!

Breakfast for Dinner

Oh man I was starving and sore, but I took a bath with epson salts and then made myself a good ol' breakfast for dinner this included sausage, eggs and ezekiel bread with agave drizzled over it! I am waiting till 11:30 to do my yoga cause I am sore like crazy...not to mention lazy ( I do not know how I am going to do my first 5 mile run tomorrow). Keep strong though! Ok time for some pre-yoga R&R night ya'll

I'm so hungry

Dear lord I am hungry haha.

I just finished my power 2 hours at La Fitness (back to back classes). I just got home and am way to beat to cook right now, but I thought I would fill you in on lunch. I had spicy shrimp spaghetti for lunch (which was once again leftover treats). I cooked some fresh quinoa pasta and then tossed in leftover organic sugar free spaghetti sauce tossed in some leftover shrimp from last night tacos and some hot peppers and voila. Well I am honestly to tired to type so I am gonna shower figure dinner out and do yoga. I will be back tonight!

I have another uphill run today, lets hope it goes super well! Then nothing for the rest of the night. I will see you all soon with delicious news. Bye!

Quick Dessert Update

Just wanted to let you know I had a slice of nut n' berries ezekiel sprinkled with agave, cinnamon and fresh blueberry jelly YUM! Ok now back to my decadent dessert!

Good Morning Afternoon and Evening

Man guys this has been a rough long day and I missed my run and several posts today, but I wanted to play catch-up. I woke up like usual did my morning 50. I didn't feel great waking up so I had a simple fruit salad (pineapple, cherries, blackberries and blueberries.) I then put on the crock-pot for dinner I was trying out a new recipe that I found for 40 clove garlic chicken off the paleo mama site. Anyways for lunch I had something light as well some veggies and lemonhummus from Whole Foods. The veggies were light and refreshing so it was a really nice
lunch. After lunch I went out for a little while and decided to take in some fresh air. I still wan't
feeling that great so I decided to skip my run even though I am still doing my yoga tonight which includes both strength and cardio :

Yoga Warm-Ups
Warrior 2
Salutation Sun Warrior
Sun Warrior
Boat to Plank
Warrior 1
Eagle Pose
Intense Pose
Pigeon
Straddle Stretch
Simple Salutation
Extended Angle
Salutation Warrior 1 and 2
Double Leg Stretch Bicycle
Dancer Pose
3 Legged Dog/ Warrior 1
Inner Thigh Stretch

Well anyways thats later tonight, but like I said I was making slow cooker garlic chicken for dinner which cooked for a good 5 hours but I also made sweet potato mushroom quinoa. Which I found on the allrecipies site. It was frickin amazing! I added extra spiciness and it was delicious. The chicken recipe was a bit rich for my taste, but still very good. What I did with it was make a sort of chicken bowl, by putting the quinoa in the bowl and lightly covering it with gravy, then topping half with the sweet potato mushroom sauté and the other half with the chicken. I might have some desert in a bit and then do my yoga so we will see! I promise I will be better with my updates just been super duper busy. Have a great night everyone!

Lunch Mang

Evening Yall!

Man todays run uphill was no joke! My calves felt like they were going to explode, but I was really proud of myself! We then went to the beach and did our yoga by the shore, which I suggest to everyone! I had a lunch snack of sautéed shrimp and spicy okra (that my mom made). The recipes are pretty much undefined, but you sauté the shrimps in lime juice with some salt n' pepper. The okra is my moms secret recipe (but I was assured it was paleo friendly!). I am going out for drinks and dinner with my friend soon at Mexacali, and am mucho excited. I might not post tonight but I will post tomorrow to update! Adios Muchachos !

Morning!

Morning everybody!

Man what a hectic day I did my morning 50 and then sliced my ankle on the back of my couch. DAMN! I'm ok though bandaged up and all that jazz. MY butt is feeling tons better today and I am enjoying a late but delicious breakfast! I found a pancake recipe in a forum which is very very tasty:

Johnny's Pancakes:
Time: 10 minutes

ingredients:

- 2 eggs
- 1/2 C unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 C nut butter (not peanut butter! - almond/macadamia nut butter works well)
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- coconut oil

Mix all of the ingredients except the coconut oil in a bowl. Stir well, until you have a uniform batter. Next, use a bit of coconut oil to grease a non stick skillet. Spread some of the batter into the skillet to form a pancake, then cook over low/medium heat. Flip after 1 to 2 minutes, being careful not to burn them!

I have a 4 mile run today, which I am doing 2 miles up hill and 2 miles down! I am sooo nervous but I think it will go well. Along with that I have some yoga today which includes

Yoga 1 core:

Single Leg Stretches
3 Legged Dog/ Warrior 1
Scoop and Roll
Crow Pose
Hover to Side Crunch
Half Stick
Straddle Stretch
Yoga Warm-Ups
Scorpion
Warrior 2

I am also getting mexican food with a friend tonight! SO exciting. I am going to finish my brunch! I will talk with you soon!

Burgers and Fries My Oh My

Hello Everybody!

So I made the call tonight not to go to cycling because of my pulled muscle, I do have a big run tomorrow so I don't feel that bad about it! I am going to do my yoga tonight so it might help relax that muscle. I bought a bunch of eposon salt though so I see a nice warm bath in my near future!

Dinner was amazing I made my paleo burgers and sweet potato french fries, which I mentioned in an earlier blog! The burgers are one of my favorite dinners because they are quick and easy yet tasty and full of protein. I always keep frozen angus burgers on hand from whole foods so it's handy

Paleo Burger:

Ingredients:
-Grass Fed Organic Beef Patties
-Organic Sugar Free Ketchup I get mine at Whole Foods
-Lettuce Leaves
-Egg
-Salt and Pepper

1. Place burger in frying pan and leave alone until juices run through the top (or follow boxes instructions)
2. Flip Burger and place egg in frying pan (I crack egg in a small saucer before pouring into pan)
3. Let burger sit in pan till it is cooked how you enjoy, then remove
4. Flip egg in pan and lightly press to crack yolk
5. Wait 2 min then flip egg one last time
6. Build burger by placing lettuce leaf on plate, then tomato, patty, ketchup, fried egg, salt and pepper and one leaf of lettuce to complete on top
7. Enjoy!

I am so full so I think I am going to wait about an hour for yoga and then enjoy a bowl of fruit with some tea! YUM see you tomorrow morning! Night

Lunch Update

YUM! Tasty Picture Just to show you the amazing lunch!

You're Toast

Afternoon everybody!

So I have bad news, but its not that big. I am 90% sure I pulled the muscle on the left side of my butt and it hurts mucho! I am still able to work out because it doesn't seem to be attached (pain wise) to anything else. I am doing yoga and spinning class later tonight so we will see how that goes!

Well for breakfast I had some sliced ezekiel bread with fresh sugar free jelly and agave. I tried a new type of ezekiel which was nuts and berries! It was so yummy. I am making tuna and noodles (quinoa) for lunch which I will show you soon and for this I am making a dairy exception for the day. I had this food when I was younger and it is a comfort food for me,

Tuna and Noodles (Toodles)

ingredients:
- quinoa shell noodles
- I can of tuna
- 1 tbs paleo mayonnaise (recipe)
- 1/2 tbs vinegar
- 1/2 a cup of organic cottage cheese (*not paleo)
- salt and pepper
- 1 tbs butter (*not paleo)

1. Make pasta according to directions on the box
2.While pasta is cooking mix tuna, mayonnaise and vinegar
3. Drain pasta and add back into the pot, and stir butter into pasta
4. Add tuna mixture and cottage cheese to pot
5. Stir well to incorporate
6. Season with salt and pepper to taste
7. Enjoy

I believe occasional dairy is good for the system even though not completely paleo proactive. On a separate note I am still trying to find a workout balance, and I think since I am running on a regular basis and taking cardio. I think that I am going to cut my cardio routine and add some additional yoga routines. I feel good about this so today I have a long yoga routine which is broken into three types of yoga"

Yoga 1 Core:
Rest Day

Yoga 2 Strength:
-Yoga Warm-ups
-Warrior 2
-Salutation Sun Warrior
-Sun Warrior
-Boat to Plank
-Warrior 1
-Eagle Pose
-Intense Pose
-Pigeon
-Straddle Stretch

Yoga 3 Cardio:
-Extended Angle
-Salutation Warrior 1 and 2
-Double Leg Stretch Bicycle
-Salutation Sun Warrior
-Dancer Pose
-3 Legged Dog/ Warrior 1
-Inner Thigh Stretch
-Straddle Stretch
-Yoga Warm-Ups
-Simple Salutation

Well almost time for pasta! So I will write soon!

Domo Arigato Mr. Sunomono

Sunomono salad and sushi sans race was what was on the menu for dinner tonight and man it was tasty! I had yellowtail, tuna and salmon sprinkled with lemon and it was very very light and refreshing. I did my cardio routine in the park, I'm saving the yoga for bed. I am currently snacking on pineapple chunks and raspberry tea!

I have been craving pasta so I think I might be making some tomorrow but I am not 100% sure yet we will see. I think this is all for the day but I will be back to running tomorrow and I will be in touch! Sweet dreams!

Ok see you soon!

Nutty Fruits and Sleeping in

Good Afternoon!
Hurrah for camera's being back. I am feeling alot better today, and yes I did sleep in again. I woke up and did my morning 50, I think next week I am going to shoot up to 100. I know I already posted a cereal post, however today's was much improved. I used unsweetened almond milk instead of coconut as I said I would (which I recommend), I also added sun dried cherries, apricots, plums and blueberries on top of which I added fresh banana, blackberries and blueberries. The base if you do not recall is blanched raw slivered almonds, pecans and walnuts and you add a generous amount of agave.

I have a cardio routine today that includes:

3 min cardio warm up
2 min cross over run and pulse jumps
2 min pass thru lunge
2 min knee high skip
lunge triple pass
2 min backward quick run
2 min balance beam
quick speed tap
1.5 min warrior and runners lunge
1.5 min arch and straddle hold

I then have a yoga routine which I am reserving for pre bed that includes:

yoga warm-ups
scorpion
warrior 2
single leg stretches
3 legged dog/warrior 1
scoop and roll
crow pose
hover to side crunch
half stick
straddle stretch

I am looking forward to it, I am going to finish my cereal and start my day! See you soon!

p.s. I am having roast for dinner tonight but I am going to reshoot now that my camera is back so you can really see how yumm-o's it is!

Roasted

Hello!

So dinner was AMAZING tender and yummy. It was he pot roast with a big sweet potato half delicious! I finished it off with a big cup of chocolate tea (from Fresh and Easy) with some of my cookies from the other day, which get better with time! I feel super relaxed and it's nice. I decided to skip my run today because I am still feeling slightly under the weather from the other day, but one more rest day and I think I will be good as new. On the bright side camera comes back tomorrow so no more phone photos!
Well I am super sleepy so I will write tomorrow, sweet dreams!

*updated image*

Lunch Times Tables

Hey!

Quick lunch update I had chicken and some yummy sweet potato fries that I found on the Everyday Paleo site! I am soooo full and it was so good spicy and delicious! The roast is smelling good too! I will let you know how it goes when I get back from the movies! YUMMMMM

My Mistake

Today is not a complete off day I have a 3 mile run scheduled for tonight *sigh* well at least its not too warm!

Mommy Knows Best!

Hey Everyone!

Sorry I am just now writing. I felt kind of sick last night so I went to bed without posting. I however did not eat anything in addition to what I posted yesterday so I have no surprises for you. I did do my run and yoga and felt very nice and calm with both of those. Today as you might have guessed is a rest day and I am currently snacking on a fruit salad, prepared by my mom! She makes the best fresh fruit salads so I am enjoying that as we speak. Another reason I am posting late today is because I was preparing a Crockpot roast which is cooking as we speak, and will continue to cook on low until 6:30 p.m. I got the recipe from another blog called CFSCC presents: EAT THIS , and had to try it! I am excited about eating dinner and it smells so good already! Well I am going to relax and enjoy my fruit (p.s. my photograph was taken a la phone today so the lighting is kind of off, I apologize!) Happy eating guys and gals! Catch you for dinner!!

Two posts in a row! Oh my

Hello strangers!

I can't remember when we last spoke... just kidding! As promised since I missed some posts last night I am doing a double post right now, well here it is. I woke up pretty late today, since I stayed out last night so breakfast was skipped, lunch however was delicious!

After I woke up and did my morning sit-ups I was treated to lunch at Chipotle! I am pretty sure you remember my post yesterday about a yummy paleo friendly meal via Chipotle, well I gave it a go, and it was delicious. It was pretty much a salad sans rice and cheese with double meat ( I got chicken) then fajita vegetables, basic salsa topped with yummy guacamole ( I squeezed some lemon juice on top). It was filling and refreshing. I also enjoyed an iced unsweetened green tea!

I have a 3 mile run scheduled today, which I am going to do during evening hours because of the ridiculous heat. I have a cardio routine which is as follows:

3 min cardio warm up
2 min four squat flip
cross front lunge
arm drive high knee
2 min russian twist
2 min run cross over
2 min toe and knee touch
leap knee press pull
1.5 min standing quad/ hamstring
1.5 min standing calf/ chest opener

Before bed I have a yoga routine to do as well which is made up of:

yoga warm-ups
twist to walking plank
crescent lunge
double leg stretch bicycle
salutation hop and lift
wipers leg lift
big toe pose
boat to plank
seated twist
supine hamstring

I once again am not feeling that hungry, but I will update you for a dessert treat later tonight and let you know about how the run and routines go. I will see you soon!

Better Late then Never

Hello!

Sorry I did not post last night, I was out till the wee hours, however to make up for it I am doing two back to back posts. So yesterday I had chicken for lunch which was pretty simple, and pre-made so I did not feel the need to post it, and I was pretty full for the rest of the night. I did stumble upon a wicked sweet tooth at night though and had a friend come by and help me try a recipe that I found on Elana's Pantry. The recipe was for " dairy free, gluten free chocolate chip cookies! The recipe was delicious and very satisfying with almond milk and a cup of tea! Be sure to make the cookies into half-inch rounds or else they will come out very soft, and give them about 15 minutes to cool after baking so they harden. After baking we went out for some drinks and a late night snack with was pork chops and poached eggs for me. All together a very fun night and a good rest day!

Sleep meets chicken MmmMM

Good Afternoon Everybody!

As I mentioned before I slept in today, till 12 p.m.! It was lovely, but let me discuss some business before I get distracted. Last night I did my first yoga session and it was wonderful. As I did the stretches I felt so calm and comfortable it was a great choice to leave that for a pre-bed routine!

Today is an off day as far as exercise goes, but as always I did my morning sit-ups, which were very energizing today. I am surprisingly not very sore today, but I am kind of out of it because of the heat. I did not have breakfast because I woke up so late, instead I had some water with an orange slice in it. At about 1:30 I had the lovely surprise of being treated to lunch at Sharky's down the street from me. There was not all that much on the menu for you paleo people, however I found some delicious chicken lettuce wraps (ask for them sans sauce and peanuts)! They were a great brunch choice for today!

On a side not my dad was trying to convince me to go to Chipotle, which I thought would be very restrictive but he sent me a wonderful link that I will use next time I go (Chipotle link)!

Well thats the update for today so far! I am not sure what I am going to do for dinner later, my appetite has been sort of scaled down because of the heat... but you will be the first to know!

Looong Day

Hello!

Sorry I am posting so late tonight I just got home. So I ended up not running till night tonight, because of timing and heat but it was alright. But first things first for a late lunch/ early dinner at Sushi Dan on Sunset I had a wonderful Salmon Skin Salad with lemon instead of house dressing and alot of tuna and yellowtail sashimi. It was delicious just remember when indulging in Japanese food treat use lemon instead of soy! So after that filling meal we went on a nice walk on the beach to watch the sunset.

After returning home I took an hour nap because I was still beat from blood donation last night! After nap time it was run time, tonight was so hard but amazing. I did a 4 mile run in 40 minutes because I was dying after 2 of 8 laps, however I continued and got a second wind at 6 laps. I have to say even if you are beat push yourself to do that workout even if you have to go a little slower, you will feel so rewarded after! I did my cardio routine at the park after the run and came home for some tea, YUM! I am waiting till 11:30 tonight to do my yoga routine so I will blog about it as soon as I get up tomorrow! I am mucho sleepy so I might sleep in a bit. All together is was a wonderful day and I am looking forward to resting tomorrow.

Morning Person Much

It is still taking some doing waking up at a reasonable hour, being that I am not a morning person and stay up to unpredictable hours... it has improved with working out but is not completely gone.

Anyways I am awake, so good morning everyone! Today is a big day full of things to do. I woke up did my morning sit-ups which is getting easier I need to step it up to 100 soon, which is a good workout cue once it is just strain and you feel like you are no longer getting sore, and you can do higher reps then jump those reps up! I had my cereal today, which I featured in a previous post and it was very delicious. I do think I am going to start getting unsweetened almond milk again instead of the coconut milk, because the coconut milk has a slightly sour taste that I don't enjoy whereas the almond milk is just yummy goodness!

Once my food digests I am going to make my way to the park for my *Gulp* 4 mile run, which me luck! Then lunch for my Aunties birthday followed my my cardio routine, a bike at the beach (maybe), and a night hike! WOW big day. Just for the record my cardio routine for the day is made up of:

3 min cardio warmup
2 min low high shuffle
starting block lunge
2 min zig-zag triple step
2 min wood chop twist
side shuffle lunge
single leg squat jump with with a 3-point touch
quick feet burpee
1.5 min warrior/cat/cow
1.5 min child's pose with a triceps stretch

Oh and by the way! I have news...I felt like I was missing something and felt imbalanced and I realized what it was something calming before bed each night. I kept thinking what could fill that place for me, then BAM it hit me... YOGA! So I have added a yoga routine 3 days a week starting tonight and so just for the record I will list what is involved in tonight's yoga schedule:

yoga warm ups
scorpion
warrior 2
single leg stretches
3 legged dog/ warrior 1
scoop and roll
crow pose
hover to side crunch
half stick
straddle stretch

I will be sure to let you know how it goes tonight! Two last things before I go, first if you have questions about certain exercises on my list or anything else in face please let me know I would love to explain. Secondly remember all of these routines are created for me through Nike Women Training Club which is a great resource (and its free), and I log all of my running with Nike+ Coach (which is free but you need to purchase the Nike+ chip, for it to be of any use to you, which is about 20 dollars. I think it is a great investment personally, but more about that later! I will see you soon!

Tonight was a take out night which can be difficult if you are on this eating plan. However it can still be fun! We decided to get Thai tonight and I ended up getting steak salad soaked in lime and chile peppers, it had cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions and cilantro. We also shared a small order of chile shrimp and cucumbers. It was a tasty night time treat.

I followed this with a desert of tangelos, banana and a big cup of raspberry tea sweetened with agave *YUM*

On a different note I forgot that I had to donate blood tonight so I had to reschedule my hike for tomorrow which will go hand in hand with my scheduled run and cardio routine. I am also eating out for lunch tomorrow so I will do a piece on that. I am going to get some R&R now and do my night crunches before bed.

Goodnight Ya'll

Carb Goddess

Ok so it's that time LUNCH TIME! One of the biggest scariest things about becoming paleo was losing my pasta...well fear not all you carb lovers there is a pasta that I get from Whole Foods called Ancient Harvest quinoa pasta which is basically just quinoa and tastes amazing!

Yummy Paleo Pasta

Ingredients:
- Quinoa Pasta
-Organic Spaghetti Sauce (I use Whole Food's sugar free)
-Trader Joes organic chicken sausage (Spicy Italian or Garlic and Herb)
-Mushrooms
-Coconut oil
-red pepper or hot sauce (optional)

1. Make pasta according to directions on box
2. Cook sausage for 12-14 minutes over medium high heat in a large deep frying pan coated with oil, stirring frequently
3. When sausages are 10 minutes into cooking add mushrooms to pan
4. Remove sausages and continue to cook mushrooms till soft and browned (about 2 minutes)
5. Slice sausages and return to the pan with mushrooms
6. Add pasta to the pan and toss mushrooms and sausages into pasta over low heat
7. Add pasta sauce and toss till pasta is coated well and well incorporated
8. Add red peppers or hot sauce depending on how hot you like your food (I loove SPICY)
9. Enjoy

This is a yummy pasta that you can mix and match with different sauces and types of meat (chicken, beef, shrimp, etc)

Serves about 4-5 people

Well that is all for now enjoy and remember we have a date for dinner!

Tasty Threesome

Good Morning!

So I woke up this morning feeling like I needed something fresh and light after my decadent evening. I made something which always picks me up my citrus trifecta. Half a grapefruit a whole tangelo and a cup of Lipton's citrus green tea sweetened with agave. It was a night treat and refreshing after my morning sit-ups. Remember though it is always good to have a good variety of color when it comes to fruits and vegetables because different colors symbolize different nutrients! Ok well I am off to see a film in the afternoon and then have a hike but I will blog about lunch and/ or dinner.

Dinner OMGZ

Hello,

Ok so What I left out in my introduction is I occasionally cheat with my diet for special occasions with others. Tonight was my parents 20th anniversary so we went out to eat at the Ritz in Marina Del Ray. I wasn't too bad... well I was pretty bad but it rarely comes when I cheat and it was a special day. I didn't feel right photographing the food at the table but I will let you know what I had and some was paleo friendly if you want to eat there ever!!

Appetizers:
-grilled prawns with vine ripened peppers, garlic and lime on a crisp
-tartar of tuna with avocado mousse, white grapefruit and pimento sauce
-garlic and herb crusted toast with butter

Main Course:
-ribeye steak mesquite smoked with caramelized shallots, hen of the woods and pink peppercorns

Dessert:
-coffee cake with fresh raspberries and creme fresh ice cream
-mocha cafe aka irish coffee

All together it was sinful and delicious but we all need those days where we share with others just don't make it an every day occurrence

Well it's back on the horse for tomorrow where I will have some yummy paleo treats for you and although it is a rest day for running I am doing a night hike

goodnight ya'll

Lunch/Snack Update

Since I had a late breakfast today I am just having a snack for lunch no photo needed just half a banana and some fresh squeezed tangerine juice *yum*

This was a nice sweet treat after my workout which was rough today because i forgot my music at home and it was muggy. I feel like it's important to work through your obstacles though. Todays 3 mile run was sort of slow because I am just now getting back into the flow of things. I ran it in 19 minutes and then did my routine after. I am going to get some take out tonight and Ill let you know how that goes!

I woke up late today...so sad

So good afternoon everybody,
I just woke up an hour ago which is pretty late for me but it was nice. I did my morning sit ups which is 50 in a row. I do 50 in a row every morning and the same right before bed. One of the things I have missed since I started living a paleo lifestyle is cereal that yummy food that takes me back to my childhood and my breakfast everyday before my dietary transition. So I decided to try to make my own after several weeks of searching a la the grocery store. The trial cereal I created was as follows:

Sliced almonds, walnuts, pecans, dried cherries, blueberries, banana, ground cinnamon, coconut milk and agave sweetener.

-Take almonds, walnuts, pecans, dried cherries, blueberries and banana put into bowl
-Sprinkle with cinnamon and drizzle with agave then ad coconut milk and enjoy

The best thing about a recipe like this is you can add whatever you want into it! Next time I am adding more dried fruit.

So now that I am full I am off to work out todays workout plan includes a nike training cardio program:

3 min cardio warmup
2 min power skip and sprint
Single leg lunges
Chris cross turns
2 min twist and plank
russian dance
2 min double step V
1.5 min cat/cow and downward dog
1.5 min cobra/ runners lunge

this comes after a 3 mile run for the day! Ok I will update with how it goes and what's for dinner later on. I might not have lunch since I woke up but we shall see.

Welcome

I have always strived for a healthy lifestyle traveling through diet fads and thigh masters... struggling with my weight. This is a personal journey I believe we have all been on at some point in our lives. I have been eating paleo for about a month now (Paleo being a diet that is based on the paleolithic era) The diet is high protein and you extract gluten and sugar from your meal plan) I have taken this one step further and combined it with an O+ blood type meal plan which extracts dairy from my food chart. Aside from maintaining a healthy eating regimen I believe it is important to have an equally beneficial workout routine. I have been training for my first 5k which is in September! (I am very excited) I have been training with nike coach, Nike women Training Club, along with cycling classes. I used to hate exercise and now find it instrumental in my day to day life to maintain healthy stress levels. The point of this blog is to help people on the same path as myself. I will be keeping daily food logs starting tomorrow (recipes included of course) along with my daily workouts and a few other surprises. As always live a healthy today for a healthy tomorow!
